This week we learned about the work of paleontologists! Students were challenged to use their paleontologist tool (a toothpick) to dig out as many fossils (chocolate chips) from the Earth (cookie) as they could. The goal was to try and get the “fossils” out whole and to try not to destroy the “Earth” too much!
We had a great time presenting our rock projects to each other!!
After our Thanksgiving Feast, we came back and did a webquest on The First Thanksgiving! Afterwards, students were presented with a challenge to build a mayflower ship that would get Pilgrims from England to America without sinking. We will test our boats tomorrow to see which one stays afloat the longest!

Fun Friday!
We learned about the layers of soil today by building it with food!
Ella’s father, Mr. Pascual, has served our country for over 5 years! Since Veterans Day is tomorrow, he came to talk to the class about what he does and even let us try on his gear 👍🏻 thank you for all you do to keep us safe, Mr. Pascual!

We went on a virtual field trip today! Even though we have finished our American Indian unit, this experience was too good to pass up! Students explored The Plains Indians most valuable possessions. There was a live video with a tour guide pulling preserved buffalo parts out of a trunk to show kids how the Plains Indians used their environment for clothes, food and shelter! Ask your kids about their experience.
Meet Tom the Turkey, our thanksgiving friend for the next 2 weeks!
Thank you to Mrs. Patterson for making our attitudes of gratitude door! Students wrote what they were thankful for on the turkey’s feathers. Grateful hearts are the happiest hearts :)
