This week we learned about the work of paleontologists! Students were challenged to use their paleontologist tool (a toothpick) to dig out as many fossils (chocolate chips) from the Earth (cookie) as they could. The goal was to try and get the “fossils” out whole and to try not to destroy the “Earth” too much!

We had a great time presenting our rock projects to each other!!

After our Thanksgiving Feast, we came back and did a webquest on The First Thanksgiving! Afterwards, students were presented with a challenge to build a mayflower ship that would get Pilgrims from England to America without sinking. We will test our boats tomorrow to see which one stays afloat the longest!
