Colonial Day

We had such a fun day traveling back in time to the Colonial Period!! I loved watching the students have an authentic learning experience 👍🏻

We used our natural resources like the colonists did and made our own ink for our feather pens. Ben is squeezing the blueberries to get all the juice out!

Students dipped their feathers in the blueberry ink they made and tried to write a letter like they did back in the colonial days!

100 days smarter in 3rd grade

We started our 100th day in 3rd grade by creating bridges with 100 popsicle sticks! The challenge was to create a bridge that could hold the most weight. A second part to the challenge was to also create a bridge that was the most aesthetically pleasing.

The winners were Ella, Alanna Grace, and Finley! Their bridge held over 1 kilogram 👏🏻

Next, I posed another 100th day challenge! Students had 7 task cards to work through. Each card had 4 numbers. They needed to use all 4 numbers and all operations (x, +,-, and /) to create an equation that equaled 100.

Even though third grade aged us a bit, we are thankful for these 100 days together. We had such a fun day being being 100 years old and celebrating being 100 days smarter 👵🏻👍🏻

Martin Luther King Jr.

On Friday, our class read a biography about the bravery and courage that Martin Luther King Jr. showed when standing up for what he believed in! We created a class banner to honor him. Their favorite quote from him was that he wanted to “meet hate with love” ❤️

Field Day Fun!

We are the third grade tug of war CHAMPIONS!! Mr. Austin (my husband) came to play! He didn’t know he would leave soaking wet 😂
